Not sure what jump rope size is right for you? No problem. We're here to give you some guidance on how to properly size your jump rope so you get the best jump rope workout experience possible.
All of our ropes are sized to match your height. Use the sizing tables below to see what length of jump rope is best for you. If you are in-between sizes, and you're a beginner, the larger size is usually preferable because it allows more room for error. If you are more experienced, then the smaller size tends to be better. If you currently have a rope that you are comfortable jumping with, we recommend measuring your current rope, not including the handles for a comparison. Still have questions? Jump Rope Sizing FAQ
What If I'm In-between Two Sizes?
If you happen to fall in-between two sizes (example - you're 5'8.5" or 1.74m tall and you're not sure whether to go Medium or Large), we recommend using the following guidelines: If you're new to jump rope training and have never jumped before, go with the longer option (Large, in this example) as this will give you more room for error as you're learning. If you already have experience with jumping or you're generally well-coordinated, then it really comes down to personal preference. If you want to maximize the speed of your jumping, go with the shorter option (Medium, in this example). If you generally enjoy jumping with a longer rope for tricks and freestyle jumping, go with the longer option (Large, in this example).
What If I Already Have A Jump Rope?
If you already own a jump rope and you like the length, measure length of your rope between the handles and choose the Crossrope length that is closest to that from the chart above.
Does Sizing Change For Someone With Long Or Short Arms?
Actually, no. Arm length does not change the appropriate size recommendation. Whether you have long or short arms for your height, the proper hand positioning is exactly the same. Your hands should be at hip height, about 8"-12" from your body on each side. If you have longer arms, try bending at the elbows a bit more to keep your hands in the proper location, but you should NOT get a longer rope.
Does The Length Include The Handles?
No, it does not include the handles. As with most jump ropes, the measured length only accounts for the distance between handles. (including the rope and clips)
